Bone Marrow Aspiration and Biopsy

Bone marrow aspiration and biopsy are medical procedures used to collect samples of bone marrow for diagnostic purposes. Bone marrow is the spongy tissue found inside certain bones, primarily the hip bone (pelvis), sternum (breastbone), and long bones such as the femur (thigh bone) and tibia (shinbone). It is responsible for producing blood cells, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.
