Hodgkin and Non Hodgkin lymphoma

Hodgkin lymphoma is characterized by the presence of a specific type of abnormal cell called Reed-Sternberg cells, which are large, multinucleated cells found in lymph nodes. It typically starts in a single lymph node or a group of lymph nodes and can spread to other parts of the body over time. Hodgkin lymphoma is relatively rare, accounting for about 10% of all lymphomas.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, on the other hand, encompasses a diverse group of cancers that originate from lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell. Unlike Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma can involve any lymph node or tissue in the body and can be further classified into numerous subtypes based on factors such as the type of lymphocyte involved, the rate of growth, and the pattern of spread.
