Colon and Rectal Cancer

Colon and rectal cancer, collectively known as colorectal cancer, are types of cancer that develop in the colon (large intestine) or rectum, which are parts of the digestive system. These cancers typically begin as noncancerous growths called polyps on the inner lining of the colon or rectum. Over time, some of these polyps may transform into cancerous tumors. Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide, with significant impacts on morbidity and mortality.
